How do I get my warranty?

On the Multi-Zone do you have to connect all of your air handlers to your condenser?

Some bundles have fewer air handlers than available ports on the condenser, so it is based on the capacity of the air handler.

You only need to have a minimum of ⅔ load – i.e. if it’s a 3 zone and you buy 3 9K air handlers for it – you can connect it with just 2 to start

What size DIY mini-split do I need?

The important factors to consider are:

  • The Size of the Area to Heat / Cool (Square Feet)
  • Your Local Climate (is it extremely hot or cold for extended periods of time?)
  • Insulation (an uninsulated area with drafts will have vastly different requirements than a well insulated area)
  • Basic Sizing based on Square Footage alone:
  • 12k BTU = up to 500 square feet
  • 18k BTU = 450 to 750 square feet
  • 24k BTU = 700 to 1000 square feet
  • 36k BTU = 950 to 1500 square feet

Is the Advantage series DIY®?

No, it is not. The Advantage must be installed by a certified HVAC technician.

What is the max line set length that can be run on your units?

The max length depends on the unit that is being installed.

  • DIY Single Zone: 75ft
  • DIY 18k-48k Multi Zone Condensers w/ One Air Handler: 75ft
  • DIY Multi Zone Combined Total:
    • 2-Zone: 123ft
    • 3-Zone: 172ft
    • 4-Zone: 221ft
    • 5-Zone: 221ft

Do your mini-splits have HEPA filters?

Because of the extra filter density required to meet the HEPA specification, HEPA filters only work well at low airflow levels. It is not practical to fit a HEPA filter to a residential split-system air conditioner, as they deliver much greater airflow volumes than dedicated air purifiers. Air flow restriction from a HEPA filter, could cause under-performance or failure in a mini-split or other residential split-system air conditioner.

What is the temperature lock out on the DIY?

On the Multi-Zone:

  • Indoors – at the thermostat – on Multi-Zone units the temperature range for cooling can be from 62F to 90F and heating from 32F to 86F.
  • However, the 3rd Gen Multi-Zone 27k and 36k condensers operational range for heating is -13F to 86F (outside temperature), cooling is -13F to 122F (outside temperature).

On the Single-Zone:

  • Indoors – at the thermostat – on all Single Zone units the temperature range for cooling can be from 62.2F to 89.6F and heating from 32F to 86F.
  • However, the 3rd Gen Single Zone 12K condenser operational range for heating is -13F to 86F (outside temperature), cooling is 5F to 109.4F; The 18k, 24k, 36k condensers operational ranges for heating are -4F to 86F (outside temperature), cooling is 5F to 122F.
